All these kids have nicknames of their choice for her. Director Rajasekar had a tough time to choose these names. He first took a list of around fifty nicknames and selected the eight best names from the list. Vijay and Nayantara add attraction to IPL

The Chennai team of BCCI's Indian Premiere League (IPL) has roped in two top stars from Kollywood to add colour to the team. Chennai Super Kings formally embraced the glamour that cinema is believed to bring along by roping in two Kollywood biggies as its brand ambassadors. The leading young actor Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay and the hot girl of Kollywood Nayantara were officially announced as brand ambassadors of the team. The announcement was made at a glittering function held in Chennai today (March 18). Vijay, who was present in the function said, "I am thrilled to be part of the Chennai Super Kings. I am an ardent fan of cricket, thanks to my son, who is glued to the television set whenever India plays." He added that, "To be part of our Chennai team is a delight for me and I hope that I can contribute my bit in my new role. All my fans and well-wishers too have a great passion for the sport. Let's all join hands together and support Chennai Super Kings to ensure that namma team rocks". Nayantara, who is the other star ambassador, could not turn up for the event. K Srikkanth, former Indian skipper and cricketing brand ambassador of Chennai Super Kings, was also present on the occasion. IPL, the BCCI's money-rich Indian Premier League, already has top Bollywood stars Sharukh Khan and Preity Zinta as popular franchises.

Nayanthara’s Twenty 20 & black beauty

Nayanthara is making a comeback in Malayalam cinema opposite Prithviraj with Twenty 20. A multi-starrer, Twenty: 20 will be the first film from AMMA, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists. Shooting for this film begins at Kochi today after a small break. Nearly all the big stars of Malayalam cinema – from the important heroes to the heroines – have made themselves, date-wise, available. Nayanthara will make a special appearance in Twenty:20. Directed by veteran Joshy, the movie is scheduled to open in theatres by June. It was with the Malayalam film Manasinakkare that Nayanthara made her debut. Later, she moved to Kollywood and Tollywood. This glam doll has shot to stardom in a short time, playing versatile roles in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. We all know that Billa has taken her to new heights in Tamilnadu and Kerala. Ajit is Aegan!

Karunamoorthy of Ayngaran International and his co-producer actor Arun Pandian in an official press statement has said that their Ajit film will be titled as Aegan and it will have Nayanthara as heroine. Aegan story and direction is by Raju Sundaram, with dialogues by S.Ramakrishnan who wrote for films like Sanda Kozhi, Baba etc. Camera is by Arjun Juna and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. In supporting roles are Jayaram, Suman, Nassar, Suhasini Maniratnam and Navdeep. 15 days of Aegan shoot took place in Hong Kong and the unit will be shooting later in songs in Australia, Newsland and England

Nayanthara is going back to her roots, the Malayalam film industry after a gap of three years to do a special character part in twenty: 20, featuring all top Malayalam actors who are members of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists). Nayan will shake a leg with the fastest rising star in Malayalam, Pritviraj and a host of other young actors like Jayasurya, Indrajith, and Boban Kunchacko. The dance number will be shot in a Chennai studio for four days under the supervision of first rate choreographer Brinda. AMMA is making twenty: 20 as a part of their attempt to wash up funds for the welfare activities of the organization. Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Jayaram and all other actors who are members of the organization are acting in the film without taking any salary. The film directed by veteran Joshy is due for summer release.

Billa Review

It is not difficult to catch the 'coooool'ness of Billa in brief… it is impossible! Yes, Vishnu Vardhan's Billa (which premiered in a few select cinema halls in Chennai today), releasing tomorrow, proved that it is not just another remake of an old trendy film, but magical and a visual treat with its own style and individuality. Vishnu's style-mantra project starts with a bang and ends in an explosion, that's how punch-packed it is. "Part mark of respect, part original, all superficial" is a good description of this movie in which everyone (not just the hero!) looks and sounds simply smashing, with their clipped dialogues, power-dressing and loads of attitude. Plus, Vishnu has ensured that the movie stays within the 2 hour-15 minute time frame, a proof of the tight script and screenplay. Does Billa actually need a story introduction? Proving wrong all the noise that Vishnu's Billa is exactly like Shah Rukh Khan's Don, the movie is INDEED like the Rajinikanth "original"… but with twists and a look and feel completely unique and probably the starkest ever made in Tamil cinema. Quite unlike SRK's Don, the colours in Billa are not rich and opulent – they are clean, suppressed, modern, even Zen at times. There is a lot of black, brown and olive hues, set in contrast to great swathes of white and cream. In such starkness, Ajith as Billa, comes forth larger than life and more stylish than any movie he has done in a long time. Speaking of Ajith, he is quite clearly the very centre of the movie; he is the eye of the storm that tosses you about for 2+ hours. He looks handsome, hot and very much a "Thala". While SRK had a metrosexual, clean-shaven look, Ajith sports a devil-may-care and raw-edged stubble that only adds to the masculinity. Plus, his personality is dark, cold and silent as Billa; in complete contrast to the cheeky Velu. With Billa, the female is as deadly, if not deadlier, than the male. Namitha plays CJ, the gangster's moll, but with a toughness and shrewdness worthy of any top boss. She is sexy, unabashed, fearless and perhaps even as ruthless as Billa himself. And she loves him to death. Literally. Nayantara is the one out to tame the beast, consumed by the need for revenge. She is an electric mix of sexy and tough, beauty and fighting skill. Prabhu is individually Prabhu. His authority and intelligence reminds one of Gautam Vishwanath of Mani Ratnam's Agninakshatram. For a movie that is supposedly a religious remake of the original, Vishnu's Billa manages to evoke all these doubts and keep you admiring everything from the view to the sounds and thrills. Two people who deserve special mention for Billa looking and sounding as good as it does are Nirav Shah and Yuvanshankar Raja. Nirav has magic in his camera and the way he has played with angles and lighting quite on par with a Hollywood biggie – very international, very cool. Everyone knows the kind of output he gives in a Vishnu Vardhan movie, but the clean colours, the cold cruelty and the minimalistic backdrops are brought to complete clarity by him. Yuvan's music is brilliant! Every single song sounds great and now that you can experience the audio-visuals, it only gets better. The music gives the visuals so much attitude, so much mystery and arrogance that it is a superb blend. The theme song is probably the best because it arrives with drama and fervour at the right places throughout the movie. Anu Vardhan's costumes are in keeping with the personalities of the protagonists – Ajith is urbane and casually, carelessly slick in suits, as Billa; scruffy and lovable as Velu in faded jeans and messy t-shirts and shirts; Nayantara is power-packed and as attitude-filled as Billa himself and dressed in leather, tights, boots and olives. Namitha is a true moll without being a floozy. She is curvaceous, devoted to Billa and smart in her own way. The actresses' roles could have been a bit more or a bit stronger, but we will leave that point for now. All in all, Billa is definitely worth a watch. Or two. Or three or more! ‘Billa’ ready for December 14 release

The hit are cleared for Nayantara, Namitha and Ajith's much awaited film 'Billa', for December 14 release. The movie, directed by Vishnuvardhan, has been censored and given a U/A certification. Nayanathara getting back to original shape

When Nayanathara come into films she was bubby and she got to celebrity with her heavy body structure in Tamil films and even Telugu audiences also encouraged her. Though Nayantara missed the bus at the last moment to be part of Vijay starrer Kuruvi, the actress will be happy now for she has been reportedly advise to play Vikram's heroine in Raja Vesham. Vikram will team up with director Boopathy Pandian for a film titled Raja Vesham. The latter is awaiting the release of Malaikottai starring Vishal and Priyamani, while the former will commence Kandasamy, to be directed by Susi Ganesan soon. Yaradi Nee Mohini crew off to Bangkok

The crew of Yaradi Nee Mohini is off to Bangkok to shoot a couple of song sequences.The movie starring Dhanush and Nayantara in lead roles is a remake of Telugu hit Adavari Mataluku Ardhalae Verulae (directed by Selvaraghavan). Jawahar, an associate of Selvaraghavan, directs the Tamil version.The shooting for the movie commenced last month in Chennai followed by a few scenes in Hyderabad. The crew has now packed their bags to Bangkok in Thailand where a couple of songs are being shot. They are expected to return Chennai early next week and the shooting would commence at Prasad Studios. Nayantara is making her comeback to Tamil after Vallavan with Yaradi Nee Mohini. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Plans are on to get the movie released this Independence Day. Interestingly, Ajith's Billa is currently being shot in Malaysia and so is S Ve Shekher's son Ashwin's Vegam.Foreign destinations beckon Tamil producers.

Nayantara’s ‘Billa’ taking place Nov 30

To finish, the indecision about Nayantara's new film release ends. Confusion began when the release rights of two much-awaited films in Tamil were bought by the same company- Ajith-Nayantara's 'Billa 2007′ and Swargachitra Appachan's 'Azagiya Tamiz Magan'. Appachan film is imaginary to make its way to the theatres on Diwali this year, i.e., in another few days. Ajith's film will hit the theatres on the 30th of November. Other than the usual ingredient, the film's emphasize seems to be the scene in which Nayantara wears a bikini suit. Now that Nayantara's Telugu film 'Thulasi' has become a fabulous hit too, her career graph in Tollywood is going to witness a big ascend. Shooting Swing for Nayantara’s sake!

Nayantara seems to be making news in some way or the other. After wearing scanty clothes in Billa 2007 (she could only because she was in Malaysia where she is not known as well as people know her in India), she has refused to do the same for her new film with Dhanush - Yaradi Dee Mohini. The producers of the film asked her to show off her hot body a little more, she insisted that she be well clad in the film covering her entire body. A double standard don't you think? The truth behind the matter is that she refused to expose for such little pay. Her pay for Billa 2007 was much more compared to her pay for Yaradi Nee Mohini, which is why she agreed to wear such very little clothes in Billa. So if she is paid more for her next film and is asked to slip comparative to her pay, what will she finally wear then I wonder.

Nayantara hit by heat wave!

Nayanthara, Kollywood's 'numero-uno' actress was taken to Kamineni hospital in Hyderabad after she suffered from low BP and heat wave condition. The actress who was shooting for Kuselan at Ramoji Film city had to pack off early on Monday evening as she was feeling weak and tired. Later she was taken to the hospital today morning. Sources close to Nayan say: "Doctor says that she was hit by heat wave conditions in Hyderabad and low BP and has to take complete rest for two days". She was given drips at the hospital and send back. It was continuous round the clock work and stress that resulted in the actor getting drained out. Nayan is doing three films simultaneously at the moment, Kuselan, Aegan and Sathyam. And all the three directors were shooting in Hyderabad and Vizakhapatanam, where the temperature has shot up in the last few days. They were all canning outdoor song sequences. More than a year back during the shoot of E, Nayan had fainted on the sets of the film due to low BP and working under stifling hot conditions. Meanwhile it is almost certain that she will not be coming for tomorrow's (April 23) big IPL Chennai Super King's opening match in their hometown. Nayan is one of the brand ambassadors of the Chennai team along with Vijay.

Climax change for ‘Yaradi Nee Mohini’

Director Jawahar has reportedly changed the climax of his movie 'Yaradi Nee Mohini' starring Dhanush and Nayantara. A remake of Selvaraghavan's 'Adavari Matalukku Ardhale Verulae', the Tamil version hit the screen a couple of weeks ago and is reportedly doing a brisk business. Meanwhile, following demand from a section of audience the director has opted to change the climax. The shoot of the Dhanush-Nayanthara film Yaaradi Nee Mogini was wrapped up with the last song pasteurized on a beach in Pondicherry.Well the pair looks cute and the buzz is that the on-screen chemistry between them is terrific. Dhanush himself admitted that he shares a great relationship with Nayanthara and she has given a wonderful performance in the film.This song for the film was shot in an island near Pondicherry and the unit had to drive 20 minutes and then take a boat to reach this exclusive island beach. The song was choreographed by Dinesh to the music of Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is directed by Jawahar, a long time assistant to Selvaraghavan and produced by Dhanush's home production RK films. The exclusive trailer of Yaaradi Nee Mohini is launched. The film starring Dhanush and Nayantara is directed by Jawahar. The film is a love story that is the remake of the 2007 Telugu hit Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule starring Venkatesh and Trisha. The Telugu film was directed by Dhanush' brother Selvaraghavan.

Yaradi Nee Mohini narrates the success of true and strong love. Dhanush is a middle-class boy who repeatedly faces failure in his job-hunt, because of his lack of communication skills and appropriate qualifications. His father, a strict teacher, always reminds him of his inadequacy Dhanush's youthful life is dimmed because of his father's constant remarks and his own fear of failure. He stands on the verge of identifying his own self, in pursuit of success in life. During moments of self-doubt, Dhanush seeks help and support from two of his childhood pals. Aimless and in need of a big change, Dhanush sees Nayantara and falls in love with her almost immediately. The love and longing that he nurtures within himself for Nayan brings him soothing relief and recharges his battered ego. Dhanush gets a job in a software company and with quite a big stroke of luck, he ends up working beside his lover. The innocent young man assumes that finally his life has taken the desired course. He describes his feelings to Nayantara when both of them go on an official tour. But Nayantara's reply comes as a big blow to the enthusiasm and hopes he had gathered for himself. Nayan refuses to accept his love and also supplements it with the shattering fact that she is already engaged to be married to one of her relatives. Dhanush's feelings crumble and he sinks into deep depression. witness his sorry state, Dhanush's father appeals to Nayan on behalf of his son. A fuming Nayantara treats him badly. Unable to face the disgrace, the father, a principled man, dies of a heart attack the same night. Dhanush lands in a state of distress and loss. His friend takes him to his own house, hoping that mixing with his many family members will be refreshing for Dhanush. There, Dhanush meets Nayantara, who happens to be a close relative of his friend. He also learns about the forthcoming marriage planned between Nayantara and his friend and their respective families. Dhanush plans to step out of his lover's life, but fate does not let him go. At that critical moment, his long-term friendship, his love, and his lover's life vie with each other, confusing his decision. How Dhanush solves them and whether he unites with Nayantara forms the climax of Yaradi… The story is written and directed by Selvaraghavan and was a super-hit in Telugu. Mithran R. Yaradi Nee Mohini Family drama!

Dhanush's upcoming film Yaradi Nee Mohini deals with a family theme. Different from Pollaadhavan that was an action flick, Yaradi… will look at relationships. He pairs with Nayantara in the movie. The movie is a remake of Selvaraghavan's Telugu hit Adavari Matalukku Ardhalae Verulae. Dhanush is keen playing realistic roles such as the one he perform in Pollaadhavan. He looks forward to reveal varied roles that fetch him good recognition in the field of cinema.

Simbu on Nayantara, Vishal, Love and more

Simbu and Nayantara's 'love affair' during the filming of 'Vallavan' was well known and their onscreen chemistry fueled the fire. And then the 'break-up' happened leading to a plethora of speculation. Both tended to their businesses (filmmaking) and the fire seemed to have died down. But then there was a faint semblance of smoke leading to the thought that 'there can be no smoke without fire'. Both sitting next to each other in a protest meeting on the Cauvery issue, with countenances that revealed an untold story. They appeared as though there were vacant seats next to them. Vishal and Nayantara's sizzling 'cuddly….cuddly' stills from the movie 'Sathyam' cried out loud about a 'hot relationship' happening. This prompted Vishal who is known for his clear way of speaking to come out and categorically deny any love affair with Nayantara. However he said, 'we meet up every week as with other people as well just as colleagues from any industry do'. He also added in a jocular vein that Nayantara would not act with him again especially because of the 'torture' he had subjected her to during filming. He had wanted her to reduce weight and get in shape for a song which she obliged and said it had done a world of good for the song sequence. But then the usually unambiguous Vishal has also added some fuel by saying that he is in love with an actress and found nothing wrong if an actor and an actress marry. He however did not name the actress. 'Do people consider it strange for a software engineer to marry another software engineer? Then why shouldn't an actor marry an actress?' he asks. He also denied 'arranging' the meeting between Simbu and Nayantara by saying that when the two were conversing, the lights came on because the party was over and that he along with his friends left the place.

Simbu and Nayantara

After a long break up between Simbu and Nayantara the sources say they are trying to get back together.Simbu came to a star hotel in Chennai to meet with his friend actor Vishal and got surprised to see who was there. Apperantly Trisha was there with Nayantara.Simbu incurred early about Nayantara and her to ask about his next project. Gossip has it that they are in the making up mood after their big brake up!

'Aegan’ release on October 24

Ayngaran International is producing 'Aegan' directed by Raju Sundaram. It is the re-make of the Hindi film 'Main Hoon Na.' Ajith does Shah Rukh Kahan's role of a military man. Nayantara does Sushmita Sen's role of a professor. Ajith's younger brother is played by Navdeep. Suhasini does the mother role. Jayaram is the college dean. A bearded Ajith does action scenes and a clean shaven Ajith sparkles in romantic comedy. Since Ajith's last film 'Billa' was such a hit, there is lot of expectation of 'Aegan.' Since most of the shooting is over, the producer has decided to release the film 3 days prior to Deepavali, that is on Oct 24. The audio release is scheduled for end of next month.

'Aegan' Audio Release coming soon

It is that time of season that would make Ajith fans jump for joy. The much-awaited 'Aegan' music album will hit the markets very soon.

Sources have it that Ayngaran International; the producers of the film have decided to launch the audio on the 5th of September, coinciding with Teachers Day. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has scored the music, has reportedly worked hard in order to get the appropriate appeal.

Following the success of 'Billa', Ajith is hopeful that 'Aegan' would also make it big. Directed by Raju Sundaram, the film has Nayantara opposite Ajith while Navdeep plays his brother. The movie is said to be a remake of the Hindi hit 'Main Hoon Na'.

'The songs have come good and would top the audio charts, sources close to Yuvan Shankar Raja say. There is a right mix of hip-hop and groovy numbers in 'Aegan' and Ajith fans will cherish the album', they add.
